About the role

  • Technical Transition Manager leading the transition from outsourced IT to hybrid delivery at Barnet Council. Driving technical change and ensuring security and value for money.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical elements of Barnet’s move from a long-term outsourced IT service model to a modern, hybrid delivery approach
  • Plan and deliver the transition of key systems, platforms, and services to new suppliers or in-house teams
  • Ensure continuity, security, and value for money
  • Coordinate complex technical change, manage risks and dependencies
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners for smooth transitions
  • Provide expert oversight and assurance throughout system migrations, data transfers, service handovers, and onboarding new technical capabilities

Requirements

  • Experienced technical professional with a strong track record of leading complex IT transitions and managing risk in modern, hybrid technology environments
  • Excel at coordinating technical change, overseeing system migrations, data transfers and service handovers
  • Ensure continuity, security and value for money throughout transition programmes
  • Strong relationship building skills, influence effectively across organisational boundaries
  • Proactive, organised approach and ability to navigate complex dependencies
