About the role
- Compliance Officer managing export control data and ensuring legal compliance for international KARL STORZ branches. Overseeing processes and coordinating necessary permits in a hybrid role.
Responsibilities
- Maintain export-control-relevant master data for our international KARL STORZ branches.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements in foreign trade law — both German/European and U.S. export control regulations.
- Monitor processes and ensure that all legal requirements are met.
- Apply for, manage and monitor authorizations within the scope of export control.
- Coordinate necessary authorizations and track their status.
- Perform sanctions list screenings for international locations — taking applicable national laws into account.
- Actively contribute to the strategic development of foreign trade at KARL STORZ.
Requirements
- At least three years of professional experience in a comparable position
- Commercial/business background with an additional qualification in customs and international trade
- Proficient with ERP systems, ideally SAP GTS
- Excellent judgement and strong analytical skills
- Confident working with legal texts and good technical understanding
- Independent, responsible and structured working style
- Excellent written and spoken English
