About the role
- Senior Manager leading ministerial engagement and providing expert advice to the Secretary at Transport for NSW. Transforming the approach to ministerial engagement with strategic initiatives and professional excellence.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal point of communication between all portfolio Ministerial Offices, Transport, and relevant portfolio agencies/operators
- Develop strategies to drive the provision of quality and timely advice from across Transport to portfolio Ministers and their offices
- Manage priorities to ensure sustained, high-level performance in responding to critical deadlines
- Identify and develop strategic links between the work of the Transport portfolio and the Ministers' parliamentary and public activities
- Partner with the Director, Government Relations, Capability and Insights to implement business improvement initiatives
- Set vision and purpose for your team with a focus on capability uplift, empowerment, and employee engagement
Requirements
- Extensive experience in government and public administration
- Deep understanding of legislative and parliamentary processes
- Proven track record of delivering high-level support services to Senior Executives and Ministers
- Ability to prepare briefings, policy advice, ministerial correspondence, and parliamentary documents
- Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when managing sensitive matters
- Ability to communicate succinctly and navigate complex and sensitive issues
- Capability to forge strong relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders
- Strategic mindset and commitment to driving continuous improvement
