Responsibilities
- Drive safety standards, systems, and quality management for one of Australia's busiest rail networks
- Lead the development of network rules, safety investigations, and quality frameworks that protect passengers, staff, and operations across Sydney Trains
- Direct rigorous safety investigations to mitigate high-impact incidents and prevent system failures
- Drive adoption of contemporary safety practices and design principles across the organisation
- Oversee strategic development and implementation of Sydney Trains safety systems and applications
- Lead quality management framework ensuring ISO certification and compliance
- Provide expert input into SRA Strategic Plan and Annual Plan
- Lead and develop high-performing team delivering safety, systems, and quality outcomes
- Create culture where safety is genuinely "at the heart" of operations
Requirements
- Extensive experience leading risk-based safety approaches in complex, highly regulated industrial environments
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent senior-level industry experience in relevant context
- Proven track record managing implementation and review of safety regulations, policies, practices, and procedures
- Experience with statutory regulators, investigation authorities, and certification bodies
