About the role

  • Senior Pricing Analyst delivering high quality actuarial insights to support pricing and commercial decision making at Medibank. Collaborating with teams to ensure robust pricing models and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial assessment of large commercial tenders and deal management, including costing, technical pricing, and development of pricing models that enable strong, evidence based decision making.
  • Support and enhance deal governance, including reporting on margin performance, maintaining monitoring frameworks, and contributing to annual governance reviews.
  • Provide technical pricing advice across Corporate & Overseas portfolios, supporting annual rate changes internally and to DOHAC, products and portfolio margin performance and optimisation.
  • Maintain and develop actuarial data and models to ensure accuracy, responsiveness, and efficiency, with a particular focus on enhancing the GM2 DataMart for OSHC and streamlining key pricing processes.
  • Partner with cross functional teams, including Commercial Pricing, Finance, Strategy, Provider Analytics, and Corporate & Overseas stakeholders, to deliver high-quality, context rich insights that guide business strategy and customer value.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in advanced financial, statistical, or actuarial analysis, including modelling, forecasting, and interpretation of large datasets.
  • Strong capability in technical pricing, financial modelling, and the development of scalable, accurate analytical tools.
  • Proficiency with R, SQL, SAS, or similar analytical tools.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in advanced financial, statistical and other business-related quantitative analyses with highly developed spreadsheet design skills including financial and scenario modelling and demonstrated success in analysing large quantities of data from different data sources.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a finance, actuarial, statistics, or related discipline.
  • Experience in insurance or financial services (desirable but not essential).
