About the role

  • Production Manager overseeing production operations and shop activities at Jeld-Wen. Directing Group Managers and managing Key Performance Indicators for production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Plant Manager in managing all production operations and shop activities
  • Directing and guiding the Group Managers and being a key driver of JELD-WEN’s Key Performance Indicators
  • Managing the activities on the shop floor, following established procedures and approved processes
  • Supervising all production operations including Machining, Assembly, Facility and Production Support, Material Handling, and Maintenance
  • Coordinating plant activities as directed by the Plant Manager
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating plant activities to fulfill sales orders and meet JIT inventory requirements
  • Managing human and material resources to meet production targets and Key Performance Indicators
  • Maintaining existing plant facilities and equipment
  • Providing leadership and training to Group Managers and other plant personnel
  • Ensuring shop floor organization, production fluidity, safety, and plant cleanliness

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the window and door industry
  • Associate’s Degree in a related field and 5 to 7 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the window and door industry.
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials, preferably for door and window applications
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing process improvement techniques, including but not limited to SQDCI, OTD, TPS, and Continuous Improvement methodologies and activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production-related schematics
  • Basic knowledge of business, finance, quality control systems and standards
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Knowledge of plant/OSHA health and safety standards and compliance
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other position applicable software applications used on the plant floor and in production processes.
