About the role

  • Formats Development Producer creating original format ideas for television and streaming networks. Join a dynamic team at Fulwell Entertainment to develop engaging, diverse content across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Create original format ideas across priority genres and for specific channels; looking for quick wins, premium tentpoles and returnable franchises.
  • Track briefs, slots, ratings and competitor moves, positioning each idea to the right buyer and time.
  • Turn toplines into fleshed out concepts - playable games, twist mechanics, narratives with beginning, middle and end.
  • Lead gameplay sessions and office run-throughs, using learnings to improve.
  • Build persuasive one-pagers, decks and sizzles that sell look, feel and audience engagement.
  • Script and oversee teasers and test shoots.
  • Run contestant and contributor casting pipelines with a focus on diversity and strong gameplay.
  • Identify and approach hosts, judges and comedic talent with agents.
  • Tailor US, UK and ROTW pitches by channel, network and territory, present confidently in room or on video, and manage notes and follow-ups at pace.
  • Collaborate with Production Management to produce top-sheet budgets and schedules for tasters, pilots test shoots
  • Lead brainstorms and gameplay sessions, brief junior members of the team.
  • Maintain trackers for ideas, casting, tests and report slate health to the Creative Director and Head of Formats and Entertainment

Requirements

  • History of pitching to and working with both USA and UK networks and platforms.
  • Knowledge of the different rhythms and processes of pitching in each territory.
  • Can design repeatable, scalable mechanics with clear jeopardy, reveals and pace; can recognise the difference between family viewing and post-watershed tone.
  • Can write tight format beats and rules that are fair, producible and playable in studio or on location.
  • Can shape character around gameplay; understanding judge or host voice and audience needs.
  • Understands the tone and episode flow from opening notes up to finale
  • Is experienced in tabletop playtests and office run-throughs; and measures what works in order to make improvements quickly.
  • Can find big characters and chemistry through setting up robust casting processes and working confidently with agents and talent teams.
  • Has a solid grasp of studio workflows, set implications, graphics and sound packages.
  • Is comfortable supervising short edits in Premiere or Avid and giving clear notes.
  • Is persuasive on the page and in the room; a sharp copywriter.
  • Can set clear briefs, give constructive notes, coaches juniors and stays composed when priorities shift.
  • Is comfortable using Google Slides, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Google Workspace, Premiere or Avid for tasters.
