About the role

  • Associate Product Manager defining and describing software product requirements for gas pipeline integrity solutions. Collaborates with teams to ensure requirements meet client needs and facilitate agile processes.

Responsibilities

  • Understands the Jobs to Be Done theory and uses it to understand JANA’s clients’ needs better than the clients understand it themselves
  • Collaborates with Product Managers, development teams, and QA teams to translate and document feature definitions into detailed user stories and test strategies
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of training materials, release notes, and general product documentation related to the software
  • Tracks bugs, issues, and new feature requests from all stakeholder groups
  • Owns detailed solution definition and user story writing process
  • Works with designers on UX design
  • Works closely with Delivery Teams to ensure products are used effectively and internal JTBD are captured
  • Understands impact of timelines, answers questions and assists with client impact review
  • Leads sprint planning activities including goals setting, prioritizing and ensuring requirements are understood
  • Participates in day-to-day scrum ceremonies, daily stand-ups, feature demonstrations, and retrospectives
  • Brings a client-centric view to the curation and prioritization of product features
  • Contributes to the roadmap development of the software component of JANA's Whole Product Offerings
  • Validates that user stories are designed and implemented as intended

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or a STEM field
  • 2+ years in a Technology organization
  • Working knowledge of the Jobs to Be Done theory
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
  • Proven experience in the Product field
  • Knowledge of various software development lifecycles - especially Agile / Scrum
  • Must be able to travel in the US and Canada up to 20% of the time
