About the role

  • Risk Analyst for specialized insurance lines in Montreal, analyzing and underwriting risks for various organizations. Collaborating with brokers and enhancing business-related initiatives in a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze new business submissions, renewals and endorsements
  • Participate in broker visits, insurance industry events and marketing activities to support business development
  • Provide brokers with necessary support by explaining our products and underwriting standards to deliver the best solution for the client
  • Secure broker commitment to present our offering
  • Contribute to growth initiatives
  • Play a key, proactive role in business development
  • Set priorities and adapt as needed according to urgent matters
  • Participate in and collaborate on improvements to existing products and forms

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, law or accounting, or a college diploma in insurance, or any combination of education and equivalent experience in the insurance sector
  • Holding the Professional Insurance Agent designation (PAA or FPAA) or a Certificate in Risk Management (CRM) is considered an asset
  • Experience or knowledge in underwriting Directors and Officers (D&O) risks
  • Ability to analyze financial statements
  • Business acumen and aptitude for developing and maintaining excellent relationships with the broker network
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
  • Negotiation skills when dealing with brokers
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work toward company objectives and adapt to change and a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive attitude, team spirit and ability to take initiative and work autonomously
  • Client-, results- and solutions-oriented
  • Strong analytical, synthesis and decision-making abilities
  • Frequent travel to visit brokers to be expected
  • Bilingualism in both spoken and written French and English – regular interaction with colleagues across the country required
  • No prior Canadian work experience required, but must have authorization to work in Canada
