About the role
- Senior Accountant leading Record-to-Report process for Americas region at IFF. Manage GL team activities and ensure operational excellence in financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Record-to-Report (R2R) process for the Americas region, providing service and support to North America (NA) while ensuring operational excellence and compliance
- Manage day-to-day activities of the General Ledger (GL) Accounting Team, including supervision, performance monitoring, and internal reporting
- Oversee GL account reconciliations, review and analyze the General Ledger/trial balance, and collaborate with local Finance teams to identify necessary adjustments
- Ensure team utilization, holiday balance, and mandatory training compliance according to established guidelines
- Drive process improvements, implement mitigation plans, and support new transitions within the team
- Monitor global accounting activities, promote integration, and lead change initiatives
- Support the preparation and submission of financial statements and consolidation processes
- Act as the first point of escalation for local teams and other areas, ensuring timely resolution of issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in general accounting and financial processes
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, with strong emphasis on Excel
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP ECC
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and delivering excellent customer service
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team
- Critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Resilience and ability to work under pressure
