About the role

  • Director of Clinical Pharmacology at ICON leading early-phase clinical trials and pharmacology programs for innovative therapies. Providing strategic leadership and collaboration within diverse teams to advance therapeutic development.

Responsibilities

  • Providing strategic leadership for of first-in-human, early patient and clinical pharmacology studies, including risk assessment, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and exposure-response modeling.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate optimal clinical trial design and clinical pharmacology insights into clinical development programs and trial designs.
  • Overseeing the analysis and interpretation of pharmacology data to inform dose selection, safety, and efficacy assessments.
  • Providing strategic guidance on trial design and data analysis, with awareness of use of modeling and simulation techniques to optimize clinical trial designs and accelerate development timelines.
  • Establishing and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and key opinion leaders, to ensure alignment on clinical pharmacology strategies.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field.
  • Significant industry experience in Clinical Pharmacology or Clinical PK/DMPK, or leadership roles in Clinical trial conduct within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology or CRO sectors.
  • Extensive experience in clinical pharmacology, with a strong understanding of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and modeling/simulation techniques.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
  • Expertise in data analysis and interpretation, with understanding or hands on experience in pharmacokinetic software (e.g., NONMEM, WinNonlin) and statistical tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change in a complex organization.
  • Experience working with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and alignment on clinical pharmacology strategies.
