About the role
- Consultant in pricing for iA Financial Group analyzing insurance risks and providing expertise. Collaborating with sales teams and optimizing offerings for client value and organizational growth.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate risks in life, critical illness and disability insurance and provide high-level expertise for advanced financial underwriting selection.
- Produce high-quality assessments with a service turnaround time of under 24 hours.
- Negotiate with reinsurers and the sales force.
- Provide advisory, support and mentoring as the financial-analysis resource within pricing teams.
- Share your knowledge with various departments, including oversight and quality control of agents and MGAs.
- Collaborate closely with the financial and tax solutions team to deliver comprehensive service, including preliminary analysis of large-case pricing files to generate new business, and be available to answer pricing questions related to Mid Market cases.
- Deliver presentations and training sessions on Mid Market pricing to MGAs and advisors regarding iA's pricing philosophy, new guidelines, or clarifications to existing rules.
Requirements
- University degree (Bachelors) and/or 10 years of relevant pricing experience, including a minimum of 5 years as a pricer in the Mid Market.
- ALU designation (an asset).
- FLMI designation (an asset).
- Advanced proficiency in English, as the role requires daily communication with English-speaking clients and partners across Canada via email and phone.
- Excellent financial analysis skills.
- Ability to communicate and explain complex concepts using your expertise.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Client- and advisor-focused with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong planning, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
