About the role
- Business Management & Controls Director ensuring risk management and operational excellence for deposit products. Focusing on performance management, strategic planning, and audit coordination across various segments.
Responsibilities
- The Business Management & Controls Manager serves as a strategic partner to the deposit product & pricing leaders, ensuring operational excellence, risk management, and create consistency & alignment of how we manage performance across the segments.
- Manages critical business operations including intra department business reviews, operational risk and audit coordination, and customer experience issue resolution.
- Enable value creation and revenue growth while maintaining strong controls and business discipline.
- Preparation and coordination of financial performance reviews, including monthly business reviews, board materials, and ad hoc executive presentations.
- Develop and maintain reporting frameworks that track deposit growth, pricing effectiveness, and competitive positioning.
- Own the operational risk framework for deposit products, including risk assessments, control testing, and issue remediation.
- Serve as primary liaison with Internal Audit, Compliance, and Enterprise Risk Management teams.
- Manage audit findings and responses, ensuring timely and complete remediation.
- Organize and facilitate customer experience complaint and feedback reviews across segments.
- Identify areas opportunities that could drive scalable CSAT improvements, customer advocacy, and customer retention.
- Project manage M&A integration efforts for the deposit product teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of financial services experience
- Demonstrated experience in operational risk management, business controls, or audit
- Proven track record managing financial performance and reporting/ creating executive-level materials
- Experience working across multiple business segments or product lines
- Background in deposit products, retail banking, or consumer/commercial banking preferred
- Strong understanding of deposit products, banking P&L, and competitive dynamics
- Knowledge of operational risk frameworks, control design, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize complex information for executive audiences
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive projects to completion, and hold stakeholders accountable
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities; comfortable with financial data, trend analysis, and customer qualitative insights
- Ability to influence without direct authority; credibility with cross-functional partners
- High standards for accuracy and completeness
- Systematic thinker who can design scalable processes and frameworks
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
