About the role

  • Lead mechanical design engineering practices and DFMEAs for Transmission and Distribution products. Ensure design quality and improvements while collaborating with operations engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design practices and design failure mode effect analysis (DFMEA) for Transmission and Distribution products
  • Execute DFMEAs and risk mitigation for high visibility development and investigation
  • Develop a pipeline of design improvements identified through DFMEA efforts in conjunction with operations engineering teams
  • Manage and audit DFMEA records for the T&D Infrastructure teams
  • Organize organizational training and education for engineers
  • Participate in key industry associations to drive best practice knowledge

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering or equivalent STEM discipline
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering and/or medium and high voltage engineering
  • 10 years of experience in design and new product development in a manufacturing environment within the electric utility space
  • Strong familiarity and execution on design failure mode effect analysis
  • Ability to travel on business related trips – up to 15% of the time
  • Ability to walk around the manufacturing shop floor and lift 50 pounds as needed
