About the role

  • Audit Manager managing auditors and leading audits across Hiscox Group. Ensuring compliance and quality in auditing within the insurance sector.

Responsibilities

  • Manage auditors and senior auditors in the delivery of audit work
  • Oversee and lead internal audits across the Hiscox Group in line with the Audit Plan
  • Monitor the overall progress of the Audit Plan in coordination with Audit Directors and the Group Chief Auditor
  • Lead a number of the more complex and/or higher profile audits in the Audit Plan, managing successful and timely completion
  • Support the preparation of Internal Audit’s Annual Planning process and ongoing monitoring of Audit Plan delivery
  • Prepare quality papers for the relevant Committees and Boards, representing Internal Audit at Committees and other formal meetings as required
  • Support in the delivery of the Internal Audit Vision and Strategy

Requirements

  • Must be degree qualified with a professional accountancy, audit or internal audit qualification
  • 4 or more years PQE is desirable
  • Previous insurance external or internal audit experience gained either in an internal audit function or within the Big 4
  • The ability to plan and organise an end to end audit with minimal day to day supervision
  • A dynamic, assertive and self-confident individual who can deliver without the need for high levels of supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Strong people and relationship building skills, notably influencing and negotiating
  • Excellent team working skills and the ability to supervise and coach other team members constructively and effectively
