About the role
- Financial Analyst reviewing contracts and preparing financial reports at Ingalls Shipbuilding. Ensuring contracts adhere to financial guidelines and assisting in budget preparations while managing expenditures.
Responsibilities
- Performs analysis and prepares reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines
- Prepares budgets and schedules for contract work
- Performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis
- Prepares program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled
- Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures
- Directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government
- Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines
- Able to adjust schedule to work additional hours for any unscheduled and/or unplanned projects
Requirements
- 3 Years with Bachelor's Degree in related field
- 1 year of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree
- Ability to use excel and the pivot table tool in addition to the other excel formulas used for summarization and analysis
- Knowledge of SAP preferred
- Understanding of basic contract types and contract funding language, including research and verification of clauses
