About the role

  • Engineering Technician supporting Nuclear Test Engineering at HII's Mission Technologies Division in Newport News, VA. Seeking candidates across multiple experience levels in engineering support roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data
  • Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
  • Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas
  • May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Navy nuclear propulsion experience, Department of Energy or commercial nuclear power experience
  • Engineering Technician 3 - Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience
  • Engineering Technician 4 - Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience
  • Four (4) years of related manufacturing, shipbuilding, or trades experience (bonus)
