About the role
- As a Forward Deployed Engineer at hallo theo, bridging product, engineering, and operational excellence in Germany. Collaborating closely with Property Management teams on real-world challenges.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end solutions for our Property Management teams in Germany — from discovery and solution design through implementation, rollout, monitoring, and iteration
- Design and build integrations and extensions on our platform (APIs, data pipelines, configuration, custom logic) that are reliable, secure, and maintainable
- Serve as a technical partner for our regional teams to clarify requirements, manage risks, and keep projects on track
- Translate frontline operational issues into product insights — shape our roadmap with clear problem statements, edge cases, and data-driven learnings from the field
- Continuously improve our playbooks and tools so future rollouts are faster, safer, and more repeatable
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience as a product or software engineer working on production systems (ideally in SaaS or platform products)
- Strong experience with modern web backends and APIs (e.g., REST/GraphQL, event-driven systems, cloud-native architectures)
- Proven experience in customer-facing work: implementations, integrations, solution engineering, or similar
- Ability to identify and prioritize tasks, make technical trade-offs, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in discovery mode: dealing with ambiguity, incomplete specifications, and rapid iteration with customers
- Business-level German (minimum C1) and strong English, as you will work directly with German-speaking customers
