About the role
- Housing Program Manager responsible for managing Housing Support Program operations and coordinating services for stable housing. Leading staff and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Housing Support Program.
- Ensure services align with Medicaid waiver requirements, state housing regulations, and agency policies.
- Monitor program performance, service delivery, and participant outcomes.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and program workflows.
- Recruit, train, and supervise Housing Support Specialists and housing staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance evaluations, and coaching.
- Ensure staff documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant.
- Oversee the housing search, placement, and stabilization process for program participants.
- Build relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing providers.
- Assist staff in resolving housing barriers including evictions, lease issues, and landlord disputes.
- Ensure all housing support services are documented properly in required systems (such as EVV or other agency platforms).
- Monitor program compliance with Medicaid waiver requirements and state oversight agencies.
- Prepare reports for leadership, funders, and regulatory agencies.
- Develop partnerships with affordable housing providers, community organizations, behavioral health providers, social service agencies, and local housing authorities.
- Advocate for participants facing housing barriers or discrimination.
- Identify opportunities to expand housing services statewide.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, Housing Development, or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in housing programs, supportive housing, case management, or social services
- Experience supervising staff or managing programs
- Experience with Medicaid waiver programs or supportive housing preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel throughout New Jersey when necessary
