About the role

  • Product Operations Leader managing manufacturing and functional objectives at GE Aerospace. Driving lean operations and coordinating complex manufacturing issues for aviation technologies.

Responsibilities

  • The Product Operations Leader will be accountable for functional, manufacturing, and broad company objectives.
  • In this role you will drive FLIGHT DECK (GE Aerospace’s Lean operating system) culture, manage complex manufacturing issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and be involved in both short and long-term planning to ensure the on-time delivery of new technologies.
  • Create and maintain a parts list and manufacture gate actions based on the hardware need date.
  • Establishing a strong engineering and sourcing rhythm at the working level to keep a check on the day to day work that needs to be accomplished.
  • Identify pressures to the plan from the LOB (line of balance) and weekly meetings to target and work opportunities to prevent a delay or pull in the target.
  • Provide pressure to plans to the Program teams regularly by feeding lead times estimated / committed by Design Engineering and suppliers into a database and then preparing right-to-left and left-to-right plans.
  • Support the Program teams for CPD (Concurrent Product Development) decisions and long lead item identifications.
  • Coordinate communication between Engineering and suppliers to make sure that Design and Manufacturing process flows align with each other without a significant waste and support each other with minimum time delays.
  • Propose improvement ideas to reduce manufacturing cycle time by analyzing each production process step and critical to quality characteristics.
  • Enable seamless communication between Sourcing and Engineering teams to eliminate risks associated with noncompliant supplier relations.
  • Establish operational rhythm to keep track of the production status of each part in the part list and provide input to the Design daily management process.
  • Provide operational leadership for assigned engine/component programs, using sound engineering and manufacturing principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Translate program requirements (rate, configuration, milestones, customer commitments) into integrated manufacturing plans, including capacity, resources, and investment needs.
  • Lead cross-functional Program Operations reviews with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Materials, and Engineering, ensuring alignment on risks, constraints, and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate and monitor rate readiness, NPI industrialization, and configuration changes across factories and suppliers to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, and Supplier Fulfillment to ensure processes, routings, and supplier capabilities are ready to support program ramps and design changes.
  • Drive standard work and visual management for program execution (bowler charts, production control boards, tiered meetings), and escalate issues through the appropriate channels when needed.
  • Monitor SQDC performance for assigned programs and lead structured problem-solving to address chronic issues (scrap/rework, escapes, recurring shortages, capacity bottlenecks).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Manufacturing or Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited University.
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing operations, program management, or product line leadership in regulated industries (aerospace, defense/space, automotive, medical devices, or similar), including demonstrated working experience in Factory operations, production control, or value stream leadership, coordination of cross-functional program activities (NPI, rate ramps, configuration changes).
  • Experience in development hardware ownership and manufacturing of high-precision, turbomachinery components.
  • Strong aptitude in mechanical design, ability to review drawings, understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and Product Definition, including reading and interpreting drawings.
  • Experience with Aerospace manufacturing specifications
  • Working experience with GE Aerospace quality system
  • Strong influencing skills, including guiding others without a direct reporting relationship.
