About the role

  • Information Systems Security Officer managing operational security posture for information systems at GDIT. Collaborating closely with ISSM and ISO, handling security aspects, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an information system
  • Work in close collaboration with the ISSM and ISO
  • Manage the security aspects of an information system including physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training and awareness
  • Monitor the information system(s) and its environment of operation
  • Develop and update the authorization documentation, implementing configuration management across authorization boundaries
  • Assess the security impact of changes and make recommendations to the ISSM
  • Provide day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities
  • Prepare, review, and update authorization packages
  • Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package
  • Coordinate changes to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO
  • Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features are restored and functioning correctly
  • Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible
  • Execute the cyber security portion of the self-inspection

Requirements

  • 5 + years of related experience
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree in a related area + 2 years’ experience OR equivalent experience (4 years)
  • IAT Level II ( Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc) or IAM Level II
  • 2+ years SAP experience required
  • Prior performance in roles such as System, Network Administrator or ISSO
