Responsibilities
You lead the unit both operationally and disciplinarily and continuously develop structures, processes and KPI systems.
You are responsible for controlling of publicly funded projects, industrial contracts and internal programmes.
You will expand institute-level controlling, manage cost centers/cost types, budget planning and monthly closings.
You prepare reports for all management levels, including overhead cost controlling.
You are responsible for accounting, contribute to the annual financial statements and advise management on commercial and public funding compliance matters.
Requirements
Completed university degree (e.g., Business Administration, Public Administration/Public Management, Industrial Engineering) or an equivalent qualification.
Several years of professional experience in controlling or finance—ideally in the public sector or a research organization.
Solid knowledge of federal and state grant and budgetary law.
Confident handling of funding usage reports and related funding conditions.
Excellent knowledge of SAP (FI/CO/PS, ideally BI/CATS) and MS Excel.
Strong analytical skills and an affinity for numbers.
Prior leadership experience.
Excellent German and good English skills.
