About the role

  • Financial Analyst at ATS Life Sciences focusing on financial reporting accuracy, forecasting, and internal controls to support medical device and pharmaceutical companies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure financial reporting accuracy in accordance with IFRS and internal company policies
  • Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages, with clear variance explanations and actionable insights.
  • Drive divisional forecasting and budgeting cycles, providing forward-looking analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain data integrity within the ERP system and contribute to enhancements of reporting tools
  • Support quarterly and year-end audits with accurate working papers and reconciliations.
  • Maintain the accounting records in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, IFRS standards, and internal controls
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and improve reporting quality.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for designated business units, building trusted relationships with operational leaders
  • Analyze various profit streams and identify key opportunities to drive performance
  • Provide subject matter expert support to other teams outside of finance related to the financial components of the ERP
  • Lead initiatives to improve financial reporting tools, forecasting processes, and ERP utilization.
  • Implement automation and process efficiency improvements.

Requirements

  • A university degree or college diploma in business and/or accounting or equivalent business experience is required.
  • CA/CMA/CGA and/or MBA with prior financial analysis and reporting experience is required.
  • 3 years progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, or business finance.
  • Proven track record of business partnering and delivering insights to non-finance leaders.
  • Advanced Excel and strong ERP system expertise (JD Edwards or similar).
  • Effective Communication both verbally and in writing.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, financial reporting and accounting skills.
