About the role

  • Behaviour Consultant providing behavioural support services to families at Fraser Valley Child Development Centre. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized behaviour plans.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with integrated Early Intervention team and community partners to identify clients/families who would benefit from Behaviour Consultation Services
  • Provides a behavioural assessment, when needed, for identified clients, using a family centered approach
  • Develops, documents, implements, and monitors Individualized Behaviour Plans for each child in collaboration with the family, referral source and integrated Early Intervention team and makes changes as necessary on an ongoing basis
  • Develops behaviour management strategies and provides child specific training and hands on demonstration of behaviour interventions for Parents/Caregivers, FVCDC team members and community partners
  • Contributes to quality improvements of the Early Intervention team , which includes collaborating with team members in the development and evaluation of written procedures, standards, and client materials
  • Keeps up with the current research and developments
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Education, Special Education or Psychology with advanced, specialized training in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
  • Certified or eligible to be certified RASP category A or BCBA certification
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in assessment, planning and working with children and youth with challenging behaviours and developmental delays
  • Ability to foster professional inter-disciplinary teamwork
  • Demonstrated effective written, listening and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated competency in planning and facilitating service-related team meetings
  • Exhibited aptitude in time management and organization
