About the role
- Team Lead Accounting overseeing financial reporting and team development in the finance department. Responsible for process optimization and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and organize the financial accounting function with a focus on high-quality financial reporting and ensuring all tax requirements are met in close collaboration with external tax advisors.
- Responsible for active participation in daily operations with a particular focus on monthly reporting, and for preparing and coordinating audited annual financial statements.
- Prepare and monitor the monthly financial closing in compliance with local accounting regulations (in cooperation with external service providers).
- Support the monthly preparation of cash reporting to the Group.
- Ensure timely filing of all tax, statutory and related legal documents.
- Develop and document all accounting processes to build a first-class finance organization that enables meeting monthly and annual close deadlines.
- Optimize the internal control system.
- Serve as mentor and coach to a 4-person team.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance or commercial training with further qualification as a certified accounting specialist (Bilanzbuchhalter) or equivalent.
- Several years of experience in accounting; initial leadership responsibility preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS is advantageous.
- Experience in the software industry, both on-premise and in SaaS environments, is an advantage.
- Ideally, experience implementing new financial software.
- Mentoring and communication skills.
- Agile, responsive, independent and proactive working style with strong attention to detail.
- Positive team player.
- Good written and spoken English.
