About the role

  • Associate Business Analyst supporting Agile teams to translate business needs into technical goals for Fidelity's retirement services. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and proactive problem-solving focus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Squad Leader in managing and prioritizing the product backlog for team effectiveness.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), assisting in validating that delivered solutions solve the original business problem.
  • Facilitate internal meetings and sprint demos to keep stakeholders informed on project progress.
  • Proactively identify process bottlenecks and suggest improvements for squad efficiency.
  • Develop strong working relationships with IT, Legal, and Compliance partners to aid initiative completion.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., Business Analytics, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent project experience.
  • Structured Thinking: ability to take a messy, undefined problem and break it down into logical, manageable pieces.
  • Analytical Curiosity: possess a restless desire to uncover root causes and learn how complex systems work from the ground up.
  • Active Listening & Synthesis: ability to process dense information from stakeholders and summarize it clearly.
  • Agile Mindset: foundational understanding of Agile methodologies and eagerness to use tools like Jira or Confluence to manage workflows.
  • Requirements Documentation: assist in drafting User Stories and clear acceptance criteria.
  • Process Mapping: ability to create visual Workflow Diagrams (using Visio, Miro, or similar tools).
  • Adaptability & Resilience: ability to stay focused in fast-paced environments and pivot quickly as squad priorities shift.
  • Diplomacy & Collaboration: ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and navigate different perspectives with a positive attitude.
  • Basic Data Fluency: comfort working with Excel to analyze and summarize information and Power Point for translating the data into impactful stories.
