About the role

• Design Operations Specialist at envelio overseeing the development and scalability of design systems. Collaborating with Product Design, Localization, and Engineering teams for effective user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design system development: You manage the roadmap for our design system to ensure it is scalable and supports our long-term goals.
• Component design and technical implementation: You are responsible for designing new UI components and implementing their technical development together with our frontend engineers.
• Customization and integration of the UI library (PrimeVue): You lead the process of adapting our existing UI library (PrimeVue) to our specific design guidelines and requirements, ensuring seamless integration into our platform.
• Process and governance management: You implement and optimize workflows for creating, maintaining, and releasing design system components from conception to technical delivery.
• Tool and infrastructure management: You are responsible for integrating and managing the design tools and infrastructure required to maintain the design system.
• Documentation and knowledge management: You ensure that the design system, its guidelines, and the technical specifications of components are comprehensively documented, accessible, and transparent across the company.
• Coordination and communication: You act as the central interface between Product Design, Localization, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth communication and consistent application of the design system.
• Scaling and quality assurance: You enable our teams to operate design at scale by ensuring platform-wide consistency and providing standards for assessing design quality.
• Success measurement and reporting: You track relevant KPIs and metrics to demonstrate the value and efficiency of the design system for the company.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience in design operations or design system management
• Expertise in design tools (Figma) and understanding of the technical infrastructure of design systems
• Basic technical understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and UI libraries (PrimeVue)
• Strong project management skills and experience optimizing workflows and governance for design processes
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to facilitate effective collaboration between different teams
• Ability to define relevant KPIs and make data-driven decisions
• Hands-on mentality and willingness to work both strategically and operationally
• Fluent spoken and written German and English.
