About the role

  • Outside Sales Engineer combining technical expertise with customer engagement and business development in the Power Industry. Covering Northern & Central Italy within our Global Sales organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Territory Strategy – Understand market needs and create plans to drive order growth and profitability.
  • Engage Customers – Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers across engineering and executive levels.
  • Position Solutions – Identify customer challenges and propose Emerson’s automation and DCS solutions effectively.
  • Drive Customer Interaction – Conduct regular in-person visits, technical presentations, and workshops to promote Emerson’s value proposition.
  • Lead Negotiations – Manage commercial discussions on pricing, discounts, and terms within Delegation of Authority.
  • Collaborate Internally – Work with sales support teams to develop winning proposals and strategies.
  • Manage Pipeline – Maintain accurate opportunity tracking in CRM and provide reliable forecasts.
  • Ensure Compliance – Operate with integrity, following company ethics and Trade Compliance procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS); familiarity with Ovation is a strong plus.
  • Experience in sales roles within industrial process automation, with a solid understanding of automation systems and the ability to communicate technical concepts confidently.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Northern & Central Italy; ideally based in Northern Italy for easier customer coverage and training.
  • Valid driver’s license.
