Outside Sales Engineer combining technical expertise with customer engagement and business development in the Power Industry. Covering Northern & Central Italy within our Global Sales organization.
Responsibilities
Develop Territory Strategy – Understand market needs and create plans to drive order growth and profitability.
Engage Customers – Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers across engineering and executive levels.
Position Solutions – Identify customer challenges and propose Emerson’s automation and DCS solutions effectively.
Drive Customer Interaction – Conduct regular in-person visits, technical presentations, and workshops to promote Emerson’s value proposition.
Lead Negotiations – Manage commercial discussions on pricing, discounts, and terms within Delegation of Authority.
Collaborate Internally – Work with sales support teams to develop winning proposals and strategies.
Manage Pipeline – Maintain accurate opportunity tracking in CRM and provide reliable forecasts.
Ensure Compliance – Operate with integrity, following company ethics and Trade Compliance procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Strong technical knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS); familiarity with Ovation is a strong plus.
Experience in sales roles within industrial process automation, with a solid understanding of automation systems and the ability to communicate technical concepts confidently.
Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Fluent in Italian and English.
Willingness to travel extensively across Northern & Central Italy; ideally based in Northern Italy for easier customer coverage and training.
Valid driver’s license.
