About the role

  • Director of State & Strategic Accounts responsible for expanding access to naloxone portfolio. Engaging with state departments and organizations to advance public health efforts in opioid crisis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a state sales business strategy to meet financial goals
  • Identify trends and opportunities for sales optimization through data analytics
  • Identify and interact with key decision makers and influencers within the region
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, practices, and regulations
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and customer stakeholders
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with key decision makers
  • Lead or support the company’s participation in government-issued Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Negotiate and manage state contracts and bulk purchasing arrangements
  • Identify and support opportunities to leverage federal and state funding streams
  • Partner with government and public health agencies on bulk purchasing programs and public access initiatives
  • Provide real-time policy and regulatory insights to market access and other teams
  • Partner with colleagues in training, analytics, and medical affairs to support appropriate product use and education

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Public Health (MPH), Public Administration (MPA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) or related field preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical market access, key account management, government affairs, or public health
  • Direct experience working within or closely with state procurement offices or public purchasing teams
  • Proven track record of formulating and executing effective sales strategies
  • Strong understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends
  • Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to responses to government-issued Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Knowledge of public sector funding streams such as SAMHSA grants and opioid settlement funds
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and business analytics skills
  • Experience engaging with state government, public health departments, or behavioral health agencies
  • Ability to navigate complex funding landscapes including government grants and settlements
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
