About the role
- Functional Safety Engineer designing innovative functional safety systems for embedded applications at embeX. Engage with clients to create tailored safety concepts and improve development processes.
Responsibilities
- In dialogue with our customers, you determine the safety-relevant requirements for the system and design a safety concept tailored to the customer’s needs
- You contribute your expertise to design the system architecture taking safety requirements into account
- You represent the safety concept before the certification body
- Based on our certified functional safety development process, you define a project structure tailored to each project
- You advise the development team on all matters of functional safety and oversee the creation, implementation, and verification of requirements
- You support the audit by the certification body
- You collaborate with our functional safety experts to discuss new developments and current issues
- You contribute to the continuous improvement of our functional safety development process
- You pass on your expertise and train engineers to become functional safety experts through guidance, mentoring, and training
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering, or a comparable qualification
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the development of functionally safe embedded systems
- Confident knowledge of the standards IEC 61508 and ISO 13849, and, if applicable, project-specific application standards
- Strong analytical skills and a systematic approach
- Good command of German and English
- Strong communication skills, empathy for customer needs, and enjoyment of working in a team
