Network Engineer designing and implementing complex solutions at Emerson in a global IT environment. Focusing on both new network services and integration of existing National Instrument network services.
Responsibilities
Design, test, configure, implement, and support specific network services to include, but not limited to, WAN, LAN, Wireless, Firewalling and Remote Access.
Work closely with Network Service Owners to evaluate specific engineering requirements and design, test, document an optimal solution that can be operated in a globally consistent manner.
Engage vendor sales and technical contacts as required for knowledge and development of new/existing solutions.
Continuously evaluate the network marketplace and new vendor offerings such that these can be discussed and considered by the network team as we develop future strategy roadmaps.
Work with Service Delivery & Operations to train and handover the service such that it can be delivered and supported consistently.
Participate in and apply the same Process for subsequent service releases as defined by the Service Roadmap.
Provide 4th level support to Operations for raised issues and drive these to resolution.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
A minimum of five years networking experience, working with Fortinet/Cisco/Juniper switching and routing experience, firewalling, designing and implementing highly resilient networks.
Background in designing and implementing WAN, LAN and Wireless solutions in an enterprise environment.
Experience and knowledge of related network infrastructure components to include firewalling and remote access.
Experience in designing routing and firewalling solutions, developing proposals and solutions based on proposals.
Experience breaking down complex technical issues to deliver a fast solution to problem.
