About the role
- Client Accounting Specialist responsible for managing financial aspects of clients' portfolios. Work closely with finance management to ensure best practices in billing and collections.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for financial aspects of managing assigned partners' portfolio of clients
- Work closely with finance management team
- Review client and matter setup for adherence to engagement letters
- Maintain documentation of non-standard billing requirements
- Monitor work in progress to ensure timely billing
- Produce and distribute prebills on a monthly basis
- Perform various billing functions to produce client invoices
- Audit all edits in Aderant to ensure accuracy
- Manage attorney and client deadlines for billing and accruals
- Maintain regular client contact to follow up on aged billings and payments
- Develop and maintain collection strategies with partner consent
- Assist attorneys and clients with billing questions
Requirements
- 5+ years of legal billing experience
- Automated billing systems proficiency
- Understanding of legal standard billing requirements
- Experience with Aderant expert and/or automated accounting systems
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
