Responsibilities
Own superconducting PCB manufacturing capability, including capacity planning, technology maturation, quality, and operational readiness
Lead, develop, and scale the Cryogenic Packaging and Superconducting PCB Manufacturing teams
Own the long-term technical vision and roadmap alignment for cryogenic and superconducting multi-chip packaging
Ensure reliable access to superconducting multi-chip packaging technologies aligned with D-Wave’s product roadmap
Set the cultural, technical, and scientific bar for the Cryogenic Packaging
Anticipate future system and product requirements, partnering with technical SMEs to develop capabilities ahead of demand
Establish frameworks to evaluate emerging technologies, academic research, and external innovations
Build and maintain critical vendor and partner relationships
Guide cross-functional technical alignment across hardware, fabrication, cryogenics, systems, and product leadership
Champion disciplined experimentation and portfolio-level risk management
Translate technical progress, risks, and trade-offs into executive-level insights
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field
15+ years of experience in advanced hardware or technology development
7+ years of people leadership experience in a technical, R&D, or manufacturing environments
Proven success leading complex, multidisciplinary technology programs from development through production
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain high-performing teams, with a strong commitment to inclusion, growth, and accountability
Sound judgment and decision-making ability in ambiguous, high-impact situations
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear business and executive-level insights
Ability to collaborate across disciplines, adapt strategy to constraints, and deliver results with quality and reliability
