About the role
- Architect managing architectural responsibilities, project coordination, and budget compliance at Duisburg Zoo. Engaging in design and construction processes to create natural habitats for diverse species.
Responsibilities
- Independently provide architectural services for buildings and engineering structures for new construction, conversion and extensions across HOAI service phases 1–9, including independently preparing cost estimates, calculations and proposals
- Act as the client’s representative for our construction projects
- Provide independent technical consultancy and prepare construction-technical statements and decision papers
- Independently manage and coordinate contracted external companies and specialist planners, and ensure compliance with internal and external occupational safety and environmental protection requirements
- Implement permit requirements and take into account the planning requirements of the other disciplines active in the zoo during the planning and construction phases
- Independently develop and monitor adherence to budget plans for the area of responsibility
Requirements
- Completed university degree in Architecture (Bachelor’s/Master’s of Science) or a comparable Civil Engineering degree
- Membership in the Chamber of Architects or Engineers and possession of authorization to submit building applications (Bauvorlageberechtigung)
- Good skills in CAD drafting (AutoCAD or Allplan)
- At least 3 years of professional experience and solid knowledge in tendering, contract award and billing
- Good knowledge of VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures) and BGB (German Civil Code)
- Construction operational and commercial knowledge for billing according to HOAI and AHO
- Self-initiative, sense of responsibility, independence, teamwork and reliability
