Responsibilities

• Technical Standardization: Establish and maintain rigorous development standards in Dataform and dbt, ensuring modular, versioned, and high-performance code.
• Data Architecture: Design and optimize data models in BigQuery and Snowflake, ensuring a smooth transition and integrity of business rules across platforms.
• Automation and DevOps: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (via Cloud Run or other orchestration tools) to ensure secure, automated deployments.
• Evangelism and Culture: Promote software engineering best practices applied to data (DRY, testing, documentation) through internal training and presentations.
• Mentorship and Innovation: Act as a facilitator for the team, fostering an environment open to innovative ideas and conducting educational code reviews.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL Proficiency: Deep experience in query optimization and dimensional modeling logic.
• Experience with Dataform: Hands-on knowledge of the tool for data governance and transformations on Google Cloud.
• Experience with BigQuery: Understanding of architecture, partitioning, and processing costs.
• Software Engineering for Data: Strong command of Git (Gitflow), data testing, and technical documentation.
• Soft Skills: Clear communication skills to educate the team and present complex concepts in an accessible way.
• Desirable:
• Knowledge of dbt (Core or Cloud): Previous experience to support evaluation and implementation of the tool.
• Experience with Snowflake: Knowledge of multi-cluster cloud data warehouse architecture.
