About the role

Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice across all business units, to manage legal and commercial risk.
- Drafting and negotiation of both revenue and supply contracts, dealing with sophisticated customers and suppliers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including executives, statutory bodies, government agencies, and external counsel to ensure effective legal and regulatory outcomes.
- Support a Safety-First culture, staying current with relevant legislation and embedding legal considerations into operations and decision-making across the organisation.

Requirements
- Legally qualified with a current practising certificate
- 5+ years’ PQE experience in a law firm or in house with 4+ years of experience in employment and with some experience in safety law
- A growth mindset, open, friendly and approachable with a can-do attitude.
- Well-developed working knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and other employment related legislation
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts as well as employment contracts
- A proven strategic and commercially focused approach to supporting Coates achieve optimal legal outcomes in a dynamic business environment
- An enthusiasm for driving legal efficiencies and improving processes for better business outcomes
