About the role

  • Learning and Development Manager responsible for shaping training strategies and development pathways at Cifas for enhanced employee growth. Overseeing learning programs and collaborating with executives to ensure effective training practices.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering the organisation’s Learning and Development strategy, from new hires through to leadership development, though identify, designing and delivering training programmes at all levels across the organisation.
  • Developing and leading the internal Cifas Ignite mentoring and coaching scheme, ensuring it supports capability building and career development.
  • Coordinating technical, mandatory and company‑specific training, partnering with internal subject matter experts to enable cross‑department knowledge sharing and ensure high‑quality, relevant content.
  • Supporting people managers to ensure their effective delivery of Personal Development Plans for their employees, supporting them to identify capability gaps, advising on appropriate learning interventions, and implementing targeted development solutions that build organisational capability.
  • Developing and maintaining a suite of training and guidance materials in collaboration with the People & Culture team to proactively support the People & Culture induction program, policies and benefits for managers and employees to promote engagement and wellbeing.
  • Working with senior leaders to create clear career development pathways that support internal progression and succession planning.
  • Designing, delivering and continuously refining efficiency and productivity, flexible soft‑skills for employees and people managers, embedding best practice across the organisation to support for the Working Time Reduction programme.
  • Maintaining our IIP accreditation status by ensuring learning and development practices and policies meet accreditation requirements and oversee the reassessment process.
  • Driving a data‑led approach to learning, analysing training data, training feedback and engagement survey insights. Presenting regular data and insight reports to the Director of People & Culture.
  • Maintaining and managing the use of our HR systems and databases relating to learning utilising their capabilities to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Ensuring accurate and GDPR-compliant record-keeping.
  • Ensuring training practices and records comply with employment law, regulatory requirements, GDPR & data governance requirements and internal governance. Staying updated on legislation changes and proactively mitigate people-related risks.
  • Collaborating closely with the People & Culture team to ensure learning initiative delivery aligns with wider people initiatives and priorities as well as contributing to key HR projects as required.

Requirements

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business, Education or similar is desirable or CIPD Level 7 qualification
  • ILM, level 5, ICF accreditation and/or EMCC is desirable
  • GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or above
  • Proven experience in a Learning & Development Manage role, ideally within a similar sector
  • Demonstrable experience designing and delivering training, including effective soft-skills and management development programmes
  • Strong knowledge of LMS platforms and digital learning tools
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels, both in person and remotely
  • Experience coordinating technical training programmes and partnering with subject-matter experts
  • Strong understanding of talent management processes, including succession planning and career pathways
  • Ability to analyse learning needs, measure development impact and translate insights into meaningful actions
  • Confidence in implementing modern learning methodologies, including blended and digital learning solutions
  • Experience of apprenticeship programmes and managing the apprenticeship levy
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and use sound judgement
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and hands-on, with a passion for enabling others to learn and grow
