About the role

  • Systems Administrator at Chowdeck ensuring secure and effective IT operations for employee productivity and security. Overseeing device management, network infrastructure, and IT support in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer device management and security tools (e.g. MDM, endpoint protection, VPNs).
  • Own end-to-end employee device management, including laptops, accessories, and peripherals.
  • Configure and manage office and remote network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity.
  • Set up, configure, and deploy devices for new hires across locations.
  • Manage employee IT onboarding and offboarding, including device provisioning, retrieval, and access changes.
  • Maintain device inventory, lifecycle tracking, repairs, replacements, and decommissioning.
  • Manage user access across internal tools and systems, ensuring the right access at the right time.
  • Enforce security best practices including password policies, device encryption, and access controls.
  • Provide first-line IT support to employees for hardware, software, and access issues.
  • Troubleshoot device, network, and system issues and coordinate with vendors where needed.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for IT processes, onboarding checklists, and system usage.
  • Partner with the People team to ensure smooth joiner, mover, and leaver processes.
  • Support audits, security reviews, and compliance requirements related to systems and devices.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, standardise, and improve IT and device workflows.
  • Manage IT-related vendors, warranties, services, and service providers.
  • Provide regular updates and insights on system health, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in systems administration, IT operations, or device management.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and managing network systems and device/access controls at scale.
  • Comfortable supporting employees across different teams and levels.
  • Solid working knowledge of IP networking (routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs) and can diagnose and resolve network issues.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Enjoy building structure, documentation, and repeatable processes from scratch.
  • Detail-oriented and security-conscious.
  • Great at managing multiple requests and priorities without dropping the ball.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Take ownership and enjoy keeping systems running smoothly.
