About the role

  • Director of Sales managing a team to achieve sales targets at CDK Global, a leader in automotive software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a sales team to achieving the budgeted sales quota for the year
  • Directly supervise a team of 5+ Account Development Executives
  • Monitor performance and achieve financial goals
  • Develop, motivate and counsel staff in a collaborative environment
  • Provide feedback information about market conditions and plan sales strategy per quarter to achieve fiscal year goals
  • Work with current and competitive accounts
  • Hire and build a successful sales team
  • Direct/manage staff performance
  • Handle customer issues and satisfaction to increase client retention

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in automotive industry
  • Minimum 6-8 years of related experience in leading a quota-exceeding outside b2b sales hunters; selling complex systems (DMS, SaaS etc)
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a solutions selling environment
  • 7-9 months of job related formal Sales training
  • 1-3 years of outside B2B sales/including new business development
  • Excellent planning, project management, analytical and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multi-functional team environment, with a strong track record of delivering measurable results
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to a variety of senior level audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to make meaningful recommendations to senior management regarding the strategic direction of the sales organization, including the ability to make tough recommendations
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technology applications
  • Excellent work ethic, with ability to succeed in a competitive, high-performance work environment
  • Be a self-starter, able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of automotive - technology and digital solutions preferred
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% is required
  • Quota at 100% or more every year
