Responsibilities
Support the News Division, English Services
Handle all financial aspects for News Programming
Planning, budgeting, analysis, forecasting, and business reporting
Coordinate, track, control, authorize and reconcile expenditures
Prepare detailed analysis of business operations, including budget variances
Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with management
Prepare ad-hoc and monthly financial reports for review and discussion with Senior Management
Participate in cross-functional departmental process improvement projects and financial systems implementations
Interpret and apply labour agreements, CBC policies, and business practices
Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
Professional accounting designation such as CPA
Minimum 3 years of production finance and/or accounting experience
Proven success in analyzing business operations
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
Superior investigative and analytical skills
Ability to set priorities and balance competing business needs within budgetary restrictions and reporting deadlines
Business partnering approach
Open and direct communication style, good listening skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experienced working in a diverse and inclusive environment
Superior Excel skills and experience working with Cognos and Workday is an asset
Fluency in French is an asset.
