About the role

  • Director of Social Policy at DPC leading teams to provide strategic advice to government executives. Overseeing policy proposals and assessments for key government initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage teams to provide strategic advice to the Premier, Secretary, and senior executives
  • Oversee delivery of timely, accurate, and quality advice to the Secretary of DPC and the Premier
  • Review policy proposals, undertake policy analysis, and assess the impact of government decisions and actions

Requirements

  • Extensive experience and a successful track record in providing authoritative, high quality and timely policy advice
  • Proven strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Proven track record of managing competing priorities
  • Experience in law, public policy or a related field would be advantageous
  • Appropriate tertiary level qualification is highly desirable
