Application Support Engineer supporting FinTech applications at SMBC Group. Contributing to cloud-native platforms and API-driven architectures in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
Provide support for a wide variety of FinTech applications and technologies, primarily in release and production environments.
Implement automation solutions, cloud-based monitoring, and preventative measures for repetitive tasks and issues.
Responsible for application configuration & deployment, issue resolution, and business user requests.
Excellent communication and organizational skills are expected.
Occasional weekend and on-call support will be required on a rotational basis.
Requirements
Experience in a similar position OR recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Understanding of Linux operating systems and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong understanding of API technologies, including RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
Familiarity with Shared Services technologies and API gateways (e.g., Google Apigee).
Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate a self-motivated and disciplined approach to learning and working.
Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate leadership skills when needed.
Possess a highly developed sense of personal accountability and follow-through with an ability to effectively prioritize multiple personal tasks, projects, and goals.
3-5 years of experience highly desired.
Experience working with Google Apigee suite: Drupal.
Nginx.
Apache Qpid, ZooKeeper, Cassandra.
PostgreSQL.
Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Perl, JavaScript, PowerShell.
Experience using automation tools or writing automation scripts.
Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
