About the role

  • Talent Acquisition Coordinator utilizing strategic sourcing techniques for diverse candidate pipelines. Supporting recruitment processes in a community-focused agency at CMHA Peel Dufferin.

Responsibilities

  • Support organizational full cycle recruitment focusing on minimizing barriers and following equitable and inclusive practices
  • Draft and update effective accurate job descriptions for various organizational roles using an anti-oppressive and anti-racist lens
  • Post and manage all recruitment requisitions on social media platforms, college and university job boards, industry specific boards and via internal organizational communications
  • Verify employee qualifications by following up with professional colleges and associations on an annual basis
  • Drive talent pipeline by researching, identifying, attracting and generating pools of diverse top-quality candidates by evaluating profiles
  • Engage potential candidates using social media and representing the organization at job fairs and other applicable events
  • Utilize ATS to track, screen and communicate with candidates as well as monitor recruitment metrics, striving for continual improvement in the recruitment process
  • Support completion of applications for grant opportunities related to employment
  • Lead participation and support for recruitment related events such as job fairs, networking events and post-secondary open house events

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary education in relevant discipline (i.e. Human Resources or Business)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent relevant experience supporting full-cycle recruitment, preferably in healthcare or social services; combination of professional, co-op, and/or internship experience will be considered
  • Experience working with a not-for-profit is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Experience maintaining employee records and documents
  • Some Knowledge of the Ontario Employments Standards Act, Human Rights Legislation and Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to successfully approach, build trust, listen and communicate across diverse cultures and intersectionality
  • Proven track record of successfully identifying and evaluating diverse talent for a variety of roles
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to approach, listen, build trust, and communicate across diverse cultures and intersectionality.
  • Willingness to continually improve understanding around cultural competence.
  • Openness to operate from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and intersectional framework.
  • Willingness to learn and apply practical understanding of different elements of diversity, such as gender identity/expression, race/cultural background, religion, sexual orientation, disability, immigration and precarious status, family status, etc.
  • Fluency in a second language, including ASL (American Sign Language) is considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel within and around Greater Toronto Area as required.
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report.
