About the role
- Lead an accounting team managing financial statements under HGB for German subsidiaries of BUTTING Group. Serve as primary contact for auditors and tax authorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a ten-person team
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements in accordance with HGB (German Commercial Code) for multiple German entities
- Act as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors and tax authorities
- Responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable management, fixed asset accounting and financial reporting
- Organize and further develop accounting processes and systems
Requirements
- Degree in Economics or Business Administration with a focus on Accounting
- Alternatively: commercial vocational training with further qualification as a certified balance sheet accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter)
- Several years of professional experience in financial accounting, accounting or auditing
- Experience in corporate taxation (in particular VAT and corporate income tax) is an advantage
- Initial or several years of experience leading staff
- Pragmatic and assertive personality
- Good communication skills
- Strong IT affinity (e.g., MS Office as well as SAP FI & MM)
- Business-level English
