About the role

  • SPS Developer responsible for developing and programming control systems for custom machinery. Working in a hybrid environment with national and international collaboration and customer support.

Responsibilities

  • Genuine responsibility – from concept phase to commissioning at the customer's site.
  • Full technical responsibility, not just assisting.
  • Shape instead of manage – small, well-rehearsed team, short decision-making paths, no corporate bureaucracy.
  • Technically challenging projects – every machine is unique.
  • Contribute to PLC software architecture, take technical ownership and be responsible for projects as a whole – not just implementation.
  • Development, programming and commissioning of control systems for custom machinery.
  • Implementation of control strategies for pressure, temperature and other process parameters.
  • Creation and maintenance of HMI visualizations (e.g., WinCC, web HMI).
  • Integration of sensors, actuators and drive systems (e.g., Festo, KEB, Siemens).
  • Development and maintenance of modular software libraries in TIA Portal.
  • Optimization of existing applications and commissioning both in-house and at customer sites.
  • Customer support remote/on-site; willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Close collaboration with mechanical, electrical and process engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Completed technical training with further qualification as a state-certified technician (m/f/d) or industrial supervisor/master (m/f/d), or a degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering or mechatronics.
  • Several years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
  • Confident use of Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1500, ET200SP).
  • Knowledge of WinCC Advanced/Professional, PROFINET and drive technology (Festo/KEB).
  • Understanding of process workflows in plastics or press technology.
  • Structured, solution-oriented and independent working style.

Benefits

  • Company pension plan (Metallrente).
  • Company-leased bike program (JobRad).
  • Payment of capital-forming benefits (vermögenswirksame Leistungen).
  • Provision of work clothing.
  • High flexibility with opportunities for individual shaping of the role.
  • Flat hierarchies and a good working atmosphere.
