About the role

  • Lead Developer designing and maintaining AI-enabled backend services and integrations at Guidehouse. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable MCP-based services and robust APIs.

Responsibilities

  • The Lead Developer – T3 will be a hands-on technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining AI-enabled backend services and integrations.
  • This role focuses on building scalable MCP-based services, robust APIs, and secure integrations that support AI agents and enterprise applications.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to enable standardized communication between AI models, tools, and enterprise systems.
  • Build and maintain RESTful and/or event-driven APIs to support AI agents, backend services, and external integrations.
  • Collaborate closely with AI engineers, product owners, and architects to translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Implement backend services using best practices for performance, security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Contribute to agent-based and generative AI solutions, supporting orchestration, tool invocation, and contextual data access.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following enterprise development standards.
  • Use GitHub for source control, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across development and production environments.
  • Stay current with evolving AI, API, and MCP ecosystem trends and apply relevant advancements where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 to 8+ years of hands-on software development experience in backend or full-stack roles
  • 3+ years of experience in API development, including design, implementation, versioning, and integration
  • Hands-on experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) concepts or strong experience building extensible server-side integration frameworks
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Java, Node.js, or C#
  • Experience developing secure, scalable services using modern software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices
  • Practical experience using GitHub for: Source control and branching strategies, Pull requests and peer code reviews, CI/CD pipeline integration
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth 2.0, token-based security)
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
