Responsibilities
As part of a closely connected team, you will support license sales for audiobook, film and broadcasting rights as well as foreign licenses, and handle contract management (author contracts and license acquisition agreements).
Communicate with our national and international authors, agencies and other contractual partners, as well as with internal departments such as editorial, accounting and sales.
Prepare and design sales materials (foreign rights catalogues) and assist with trade fair preparations.
Review and draft German- and English-language contracts for rights acquisition and license sales; coordinate signature workflows via Adobe Sign.
Negotiate and manage rights renewals.
Depending on suitability and commitment, independently manage selected projects and domestic and international clients (submissions and negotiations).
Support the team in purchasing and sales processes and in contract preparation.
Back-office management, i.e. all administrative tasks arising in contract management and license sales.
Requirements
Completed university degree and initial practical experience, for example at a publishing house or a literary agency.
Excellent spoken and written German and English; ideally knowledge of an additional foreign language.
Strong communication skills and reliability.
Interest in working with contracts and legal topics.
Enjoy service-oriented, organized work and possess a careful, detail-oriented approach.
Confident MS Office skills; knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Lists and Power Automate is a plus.
Basic knowledge of copyright law is a plus.
