  • Project Manager at Babcock managing multidisciplinary teams and complex defense projects. Leading project scope, governance, and stakeholder management in Plymouth with hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a defined project scope, setting direction, deploying resources and driving collaboration to deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Manage and develop people across direct, dotted‑line and matrix structures, driving high performance and cohesion.
  • Oversee governance, processes and reporting, ensuring clear visibility of progress, priorities and compliance.
  • Control financial, operational and subcontractor resources, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed cost, time and quality.
  • Lead risk and issue management activities, identifying and mitigating threats and opportunities.
  • The role involves managing multidisciplinary teams and collaborating closely with engineering, operations, planning, finance, subcontractors and regulators.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in schedule planning and management.
  • Strong background in risk, opportunity and issue management.
  • Practical knowledge of budgeting, cost control and financial oversight.
  • Proven leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Experience engaging, influencing and managing stakeholders and communications.
  • APM Project Management Qualification or a degree in a STEM or business discipline.
  • APM Project Risk Management Level 2 - Desirable
  • Project Planning and Controls Foundation - Desirable
  • The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
