About the role

  • Energy Manager at Babcock driving strategic initiatives to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions in a complex industrial site. Leading compliance and utility management for achieving net-zero targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic initiatives to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions across one of the UK’s most complex industrial sites.
  • Develop and deliver utility management strategies.
  • Support compliance with UK Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).
  • Manage site‑wide utility management software and monitoring consumption data.
  • Develop business cases and strategies for carbon reduction and energy efficiency.
  • Lead metering strategy and utility bill verification exercises.
  • Create and communicate the site‑wide carbon baseline and modelling future consumption.
  • Ensure compliance with UK ETS and provide input into key performance reporting.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of energy legislation and government policy.
  • Experience in finance and business case development.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.
  • Background in legal compliance and utility management.
  • Full Member of the Energy Institute (MEI).
  • Chartered Energy Manager or working towards chartership.
  • Equivalent Level 6 qualification in utility management.
  • The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
