About the role

  • Care and Maintenance Project Manager supporting UK's submarine capability at Babcock. Leading an integrated Project Delivery team for critical programmes influencing national security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a critical programme that supports the UK’s submarine capability
  • Build and develop an integrated Project Delivery team that works together to ensure project success
  • Lead and coach a multi-disciplined Project team to deliver against key milestones
  • Managing stakeholder relationships, including the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA)
  • Develop detailed project plans and monitoring progress
  • Oversee budgets, resources and subcontractor performance
  • Drive effective risk, change and issue management across the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Essential experience of the Care and Maintenance Project Manager
  • Proven leadership and team coaching experience
  • Strong track record in managing and delivering engineering projects
  • Expertise in APM competencies: schedule, risk, change control, budgeting
  • Experience working within a matrix organisation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • APM Project Management Qualification (preferable)
  • APM Project Risk Management Level 2 (preferable)
  • Degree qualified (desirable)
  • APM Chartered Professional (ChPP) or Risk Management Level 2 (desirable)
  • Commercial qualification (desirable)
  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
